Craziest trick in the book.

Fab. Those kinds of memories are priceless. And the beer… ? LOL!

Never asked about going to the creek to fish, just grabbed my gear and went. Mom only found out if I came home with a fish. No worries as long as I was the on who cleaned it.

The 4 of us used to pull this same thing on my parents. On Sunday daddy liked to take a nap so we would wait until he was just about asleep and then ask him if we could do whatever and he would say yes if it was ok with mom and then go to mom, “dad said we could do whatever, is it ok” lol love the memory.

A little white lie ???? 8^(

It just occurred to me that Lawrence has a number of things in common with a very well known public figure—guess who!

I’d rather see them fishing than “gang” stuff.

I doubt today many parents would let pre-teens go fishing without supervision. Me I survived getting hooks in my fingers and stung by cat fish so I let my kids to it too w/o supervision.

Kids still work this angle today. I think that they are born with the ability built in.

Didn’t work with my folks… or me, either.

And the parents always say, “If all of your friends jumped off a bridge, would you?”. LOL (If all the other parents ok the fishing trip, would you?…hum…maybe…hey…!)

One of these days your Moms are going to figure out what you boys are doing, and then… look out because (Insert your descriptive word(s) here)… ;)

" I expect the moms will go down to Harrison’s Creek and catch them fishing."

??? That’s just what they told their moms they were going to do.

I think another strip had a similar line once, ie a baloon above about ten houses in a village --“But mom, all the other kids are going!”
