At my camp, deep in the Northern forests of Maine, one of the locals, visiting me, had a BIG pistol in his holster. We are in bear country, with Fisher Cats, reportably some mountain lions, and the occasional moose with an attitude. He asked me if I had a gun for protection. I pulled out my padded case, unzipped it, and showed him my Marlin .22 semi-automatic. He burst out laughing, saying “Joe, that thing won’t stop a charging chipmunk!”
On GC, I’ve been called a libber, a socialist loser, and an Obama lover, but I am a registered Independent, tend toward the conservative, and I don’t trust both the Dem & Repub parties with change for the parking meter.
All right! Little o is lying again by claiming there is an extreme rise in mass shootings. If you liberals feel better by having someone lie to you, go ahead and stick your head in the sand. But at least try to look up some facts occasionally.
BTW: ALL FIVE killed in Las Vegas were armed. Two “bad guys”, two cops, and a “good guy” civilian with a CCP who tried to stop the bad guy/gal, and was killed himself. Note to Wayne LaPierre.
Actually I am an Elizabeth Warren liberal with a gun- keep it in my glove compartment or bedside table. And, if I saw a guy in a restaurant with a semi automatic, I would assume he was robbing the place, which would scare me. Under Florida law, and that of quite a few other states, being scared would give me the right to shoot him. And, I’m probably a better shot than he is- I’ve won a few exhibitions. Eventually, if these kooks keep bringing assault rifles to Burger King, someone is going to kill one of them.
