You raise some excellent points (I’m over-looking being called a wing nut). However, the use of Christian prayers and icons is not really freedom from the establishment of religion…to be religion neutrality, one would need to invoke Allah, Yahweh, Buddha, The Goddess, and dozens of Hindu Gods at every council meeting. Easier to simply stay away. And reducing the concept to say that the amendment says you can have any religion you want as long as you have SOME religion, not the answer, either. It is precisely the habit of cramming religion down the throats of young people instead of allowing them to think and figure things out for themselves that is turning so many of them into “spiritual but not religious” individuals.
If they cared as much about the first, fourth, fifth, and eighth amendments as they pretend to care about their distorted reading of the second and tenth, we might get that “more perfect union” the preamble declares to be the purpose of constitutional government.
At times, some people tend to get a tad confused. I happen to be a looney left wing nut who owns two 38 specials, loaded with hollow points. Want to try to take them away from me?
It’s amazing how sacrosanct the 2nd amendment appears to some. Any other document of policy or advice written 250 years ago would automatically allow a high level of examination, but not this!!?? Times change, and circumstances do with them. If we don’t recognize that, we’d still have slavery, women would be vote-less, and what not. Enough already!
I would just like to point out that cars are potentially dangerous in the wrong hands. That’s why you need to register them, have them inspected, and a license to drive them. How can anyone see an analogy there?

The issue is all about owning property and whether or not the government ( some people ) should dictate who owns what.

NRA opposed mandatory training to buy a gun before so this strip looks acurate to me

So, only criminals will have guns? Sounds like a good plan to cut the population back a little.

Ironically enough, there is a major resistance to place airbags in motorcycles. There is even a movement to try and repeal helmet laws.

Prohibit any restrictions on firearms during legislative sessions. THIN THE HERD!

Ok, according to the Founding Fathers’ understanding, you’re allowed to own a musket. And you have to make your own bullets.

Check your law. Driving a car is a PRIVILEGE granted by the state. Owning a firearm is a RIGHT. There is a BIG difference.

Can’t say I want airbags in a car but I’ve always had seatbelts since my first car, a ’55 Buick.
