Just makes you wonder what debt the above average student generates.

We used to be a county committed to making sure everyone could get a quality education. Land grant state collages were created to provide an affordable alternative. Now they are all big business trying to suck money out of everyone. That is one of the reasons they cater to football and foreign students. There are armies of professors who write meaningless papers, teach very little and live well on tenure protected jobs.

Stipple: Just what we need; the best and brightest eager to become slaves of the “awl bidness”.

Stipple: No, it works against me, and all other honest folk. Archeology has shown US slaves in the plantation days were paid too – of course they had to give most of it back again to buy food and clothing at “massa’s” prices, but what was left over could be saved and used to buy their freedom when too old and worn out to be of use, and then where could they find work? Same today; where can you find work in a permanent depression? Unless you’ve worked up to “house slave” level, you can’t have saved enough to even go looking.
