We’ll find out just how genuine is all that Rightie piety. Suspicions are that it is pretty much empty.

There is a difference between Christ asking a man to do that, and a slimly politician requiring someone to do that in order to get elected.

With 1.5 billion or so Roman Catholics, how dare their leader proclaim that equality isn’t bad, and caring for the poor isn’t the “other guy’s” job. Ramirez once again shows that it is the “right” who are the takers, slackers, and sponges.

Let the Catholic Church start selling their stored works of art and start giving those funds to the poor, poor, pitiful poor!

For those on the Right, who seem to expound Christian values, somewhere in the Bible (I’m a bit ashamed I don’t know where), Christ said “To whom much is given, much is expected”.

I don’t expect the wealthy to support me, or even share their wealth with me. But I do get upset about how they choose to use their money, in Washington D.C., and how it affects me and millions of others.

“The power of a small elite which possessed most of the wealth was greater than the power of the republican government elected by the people, presumably to run the country in the interests of all its citizens. This group was determined to preserve its privileged position and thus its money. In effect, since the triumph of the Republic over President MacMahon there had been a virtual alliance between the possessor class and the Republic, which it manipulated through its control of the press, the financing of political parties, and the handling of its vast funds to influence the fiscal policies of government. …….The Bankers and the Businessmen had learned the technique of how, in a democratic society, to thwart the will of the majority”

-from “The Collapse of the Third Republic” , written by noted historian and reporter William L. Shirer, about France in the 1930’s. Rings rather familiar with our situation today.

Reprehensible. Like comparing current politicians to Hitler. I’ll take Jesus at His teachings and Pope Francis lives His teachings. I seldom agree with your points of view, but this is plainly shameful.

Pope Francis’ remarks were NOT Marxist, read what he actually said, not what the media said he said. There is a big difference.
