He forgot to add that the Democrats want to give your hard earned money to lazy people in the ghetto and want to take your gun away. Ohhhh and don’t forget abortions they love killing babies!!!
No, Ken, Obama didn’t start the recession, but charlatans like Dodd and Frank opposed reining in Freddie and Fannie and told Bush in what great shape they were. And those two pals of Obama are actually writing laws to get us out of the hole!
With big Democrat majorities in Congress, why exactly does Obama need Republican help? And, his notion of borrowing our way back to prosperity is transparent baloney. No, wait, Obama is currently showing how much he dislikes transparency.
Agent, perhaps you should study history, specifically the Great Depression. It is generally conceded that while Roosevelt’s programs provided some help, it wasn’t until WWII that the nation REALLY recovered.
How did WWII end the depression? Massive Federal spending programs to build the weapons necessary to fight a modern war. How were those programs funded? By BORROWING!!!
Well, Plainbill, four years of no new civilian autos plus restrictions on home-building and a host of other things people wanted might have had something to do with the postwar boom.
Moreover, the war borrowing was from Americans themselves, not from foreign creditors who too frequently do not wish us well. Finally, we have been going into debt in recent times for a lot longer than the duration of WWII.
Talking about getting OUT of a the current depression, certain folks always overlook that it was deregulation, and the “fee-wheeling market”, that got us into the first one, AND THIS ONE! Trusting the market is trusting to crooks and morons- deja-vu all over again.
The wars are not economically comparable d. The economy in WWII was partially government controlled. Long term, this causes problems. However, when fighting a war on the scale of WWII it is necessary. Spending continued after the war because ordinary people had savings that they could not spend during the war. Also, military spending did not completely dry up due the growing Soviet threat. The other problem is that the federal debt before WWII was not the same relative size as it is now. There is quite a bit more to this if you have time to look into it.

So it was Obama that sank the economy and put us in this mess?
I don’t know why it is taking him so long to get out of this mess, especially with all of the help the Republicans are giving him.

On the foreground anvil it reads “taxes” and “Re-something-tions”

“How did WWII end the depression? Massive Federal spending programs to build the weapons necessary to fight a modern war.”
Straight out of Communist text book - Political Economics, making a case why Capitalism / Imperialism needs war.
It is of course a total nonsense.

WWII Slowed down economic recovery in the u.s. It didn’t help get out of a recession. If it did then Iraq and Afghanistan were real economy boosters.
