Val: I spent all weekend trying to purge...but the girls won't give up their toys, I can't GIVE AWAY my exercise machine...and THIS stuff has sentimental value.
Val: What am I going to DO with it all?!
Joan: Well...you DO have a big, empty garage.
Val: Sigh...

if it has not been used in 6 to 12 months, get rid of it……wish I could convince my husband to do this.

I would have built a storage shed in the back yard for all the garage overflow, you get to keep you stuff and park your call problem solved LOL

I haven’t been able to park my car in the garage for years. It currently houses two bandsaws, a table saw, a drill press, two lathes, a thickness planer, a router table a chop saw,….get the picture? We are both woodworkers LOL.

You make it sound so easy. What if you don’t have an attic or basement?

A digital camera and a scanner have become close friends as I am cleaning out my home. External hard drives aren’t that expensive – I’ve taken pix of treasures before I’ve given them away or tossed them – and I’ve made multiple copies of them. I’ve scanned old pix, receipts and other things. Freecycle is good for odd stuff that charity won’t take.

Poor Jan. The past few days were a pure effort in futility.
