I gotta say I admire Angus’ brash no-BS style when he’s dealing with fellow crooks. He doesn’t pussyfoot around.

Also, it’s great to see my favourite new-era Dick Tracy badguy, Melies.

Happy Sunday, Y’all!Got home from Paris in time to see an aptly names Venus! What she’s doing with these ugly goons? I’d male myself be pampered by scantily clad West Hollywood hunks, if I were her!Seriously speaking, Mr Angus having poor Kolossal trampled to death, he attracted Dick Tracy’s attention!

As Rughead would say “We only allow one mistake in this outfit. Don’t make a second”

Venus does resemble Brenda Starr at her best. But Venus couldn’t be the ace reporter! Tabby’s Scottish brashness has benefitted us all, though nearly getting him shot by the moon-in-the-man….

Tall, leggy, big curves, slinky dress, and killer hair. What’s not to like?! But how did she turn bad? I want to learn a whole lot more about this mysterious fox.

So, Angus is not the top of the totem pole. I’m not yet sure if Venus is at the top, but higher than Angus. Now, we are starting to see how Angus, Méliès, Venus, and Kadaver are connected. Things are not actually jumping around in loose ends as much as they seem to be.

So, we finally get to see the face of Venus, or at least most of it. She’s been hiding something behind that screen. Maybe she’s hiding something behind her hair. Any speculation on what the thick black line above her eyebrow is?

One thing I can say for sure: you do not want Mr. Angus to be angry at you!

“Dead fish”? She looks like the Ariel, the little Mermaid.

Whooooooaaaaaa mommma! Venus is hot! And all you guys thought she was gonna be hideous! Way to go Mr. Angus! I like how this story is going? We’ll soon see our favorite villains Mumbles, B.B.Eyes, Double Up and that other hottie, Mrs. Flattop!

Mind, in comics the Veronica Lake look often hides a surprise about the covered eye.

Why does Venus look so much like Jessica Rabbit?

Well we now know what Miss Venus looks like, now we’re going to find out what her backstory is, and the mystery behind Melies.

There is a chance that is the strap over her eye to a hidden eye patch behind her hair covering the other eye. Would not be the first time a colorist made a misleading mistake…

This is great! I’d wondered when we’d pick up on the Blackhearts/ Apparatus power struggle, and here we are, with Melies and Venus (wowzers!), all tied in to Angus!Be honest Tracyphiles – none of you expected that! (I sure didn’t.)-—-Hmmm. Could Venus be related to Nova Kane?

I have to wonder though if Mike plans all this stuff out this far in advance, or basically just wings it as Gould used to do. Either way it’s very effective but I can see him having created Angus and the Kolossal storyline and then deciding to have him be a member of the Blackhearts, having created Venus and then decided what she’d look like later (she, despite her name, could have looked like the planet, ala Melies.

More wonderful art from Joe Staton! Venus is a knockout. She’s so easy on the eyes, unlike the head of the Apparatus, Griswold. I know which club I’d rather join. The beautiful Venus does favor Veronica Lake and Jessica Rabbit, but she also has a touch of the Painted Lady. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Venus. She and Méliès make a great crime duo. Also, a powerful clue here with the comment “zombie” concerning Kadaver. Maybe that’s how he got out of prison and how he survives the concrete entombment…..maybe just in time for his next contract, Angus. And maybe Venus hides behind the screen because she doesn’t look menacing enough in person to be effective as she’d like. It worked for the wizard in Oz.

So now we have two “zombies”, Kadaver and Dick “Mr. Personality” Tracy, lol

The question is, “When she gets caught, who gets to search her?”

I still think Mr. Meiles looks like Mr. Maellard from Regular Show, but with a beard and mustache.

If I remember aright, some US state police forces were called "militia” as recently as the 1950s.

Seems Angus has a legit gripe as far the world of crime goes….but it also seems he’s figured out where he fits on the hierarchy chart and it ain’t in a good place. But before he gets too rash he should take a lesson from one Dutch Schultz about what happens to those who decide to venture too far out of line.

Oops. The Crimestoppers textbook today is three years out of date. They were the “Militsia” until 2011, when the civilian police in Russia became known as the “Politsia.” This was all part of the government’s goal of shaking itself free of Soviet era labels.

Of course, only the names changed. The “militsia” is now the “politsia”, and KGB is now the FSB (Federal Security Bureau).
