You hit the nail on the head! When someone survives something awful it’s simply chance. God does not favour one over another so as to allow one to survive and another to die. Imagine being a parent, having lost a small child in the same incident where one survivor claims that “God saved me.” How horrifying!No, “time and unforeseen occurrence” befall us all, whether in a good way (so that we survive), or in a bad way (so that we die).

More likely the survivor lived because God has plans for him/her that have yet to come to fruition.
