harley’s right - there are no construction codes in Haiti, and perhaps we can change that, since everything will need to be rebuilt.
And you are probably being facetious, petergrt, but there has been speculation – speculation, mind you – that if the ice caps melt quickly enough, the shift in weight on different plates may have an effect, if only by placing stresses in different places which will then ultimately release in earthquakes.
radish, howie, thanks. that’s how I read it too. I guess I wondered because of the initial comments about global warming and I didn’t think that was part of the commentary.
