I’d hate to be a spoilsport but I’ll wager it won’t be long before someone from the local “board of health” (or whatever they call them in Canada) demanding to see permits and such.
And now the soliciting for candy sales or other fundraisers for their kids is done in the parents’ workplaces..And all the worse when the parent is your boss..
I remember my older brother and me setting up a lemonade stand. My brother came up with the brilliant idea of using his Lite-Bright to use as a sign. I don’t remember how much business we got, but I remember we had some, and we had fun.
Unfortunately, thanks to jerk bureaucrats, kids’ lemonade stands are being ticketed by health depts., etc., . Sad state of affairs today. Entrepreneurship is being squelched, purposely, by politicians. May they all rot in you know where.
Speaking of the neighbors helping out, 60+ years ago we junior-high kids were enjoined to sell magazines to raise $$ for our school. My phys ed teacher said that anyone who sold any magazines would get an “A” for the course. I tried and tried, but couldn’t sell a scrap to anyone in the neighborhood. My parents finally took pity and bought the cheapest magazine on the list, The Pathfinder. After the subscription lapsed, that magazine kept sending additional copies for months, in the pathetic hope that we would continue subscribing.

Well, Benny, ole pal, if Elly let’s it be about the kids, she should let them be the ones to make the lemonade, not just stand around and wait for it to be delivered to them for sale. Bet you’d just love to drink lemonade made by Michael and Lizzie….
