2010 is going to be loud, bad year. The Republicans have found that being the Party of NO, blocking every effort by the Democrats, attacking any issue, no matter how small (like this one), gets attention, while drawing attention away from the real issues and problems.
The media loves “GOTCHA” moments because they can bring out their panel of talking heads and ask them dumb questions – like (as I heard tonight) “What does this mean?”, “As a black were you offended by this?”
So the Republicans will keep doing what they are doing because it works, and they know the media will repeat their charges without asking “Do these charges have any merit?”
And all the public will see is confusion, anger, and nothing getting done.
Since the subject here is membership in the KKK, it is of interest that there actually is a US Senator, a Democrat, who really honestly actually was a member of the KKK. Senator Byrd. Look it up.
I observed the “pointy hats” out in force during the campaign, though they’d changed their “language”. After the election, they came on strong, and are fully represented on these pages with their constant distortion of “names” and “words”.
“Game Change” - the book that has totally blown Reid’s comment out of proportion- apparently tears apart almost everyone, left and right, with what one reporter called “poli-porn”.
Many on the right however will not actually put on the robes, as their skin is too thin to bear even the weight of their own “commitment”.
Documented fact: Nixon used racism to move the South to the GOP.
Documented fact: Obama is not a Muslim.
Documented fact: Reid said something stupid (what a surprise) in the process of supporting the first real African-American candidate for the presidency.
Documented fact: Republican protestors have used racist pictures, songs (“Barack the Magic Negro”), and messages (“Obama’s Baby Mama” - on FoxNews) against Obama.
The GOP is in no position to carp.
Motive
“Documented fact” that your so called racism pulled southerners toward the GOP was along the lines of family values and religion. Spin at work here.
Wah, wah, wah…Shouting doesn’t make your emotional rants sound any more sane, fruitcake. Go back to your veggie burgers and therapeutic pot, freak-a-zoid. By the way; do you have Stephanie Miller’s phone number - she’s probably an idiot but she looks hot…

True Ken.
And they spent millions investigating nothing at Whitewater.
The party of No has got to go.

This is a good cartoon – it makes a clear point in a simple image. It would take a lot of words to make the same point.

The Libs scream the loudest when they know their wrong! I think its funny to see how so few words can send them into a frothing rage.

motive is right. I remember those signs. They were a lot meaner than Reid’s remarks.

Howie, you accidentally left the word “nothing” off the end of your post. Thought you might want to correct it.

I can hardly wait for the discussion over “Pinhead Pat’s” conservative view of why Haiti had an earthquake.
