Good thing they don’t have to face someone like Doc Halladay. Wonder if they preen when they face the Yankees? Brian McCann did not tolerate that in the National League.

Baseball is a game designed for power over speed. Why else is there far more home runs than triples? I’d say make balls hit over the fences ground rule triples and in-the-park triples become home runs. You’d be then rewarding speed over power and baseball could become a more athletic sport. Besides, there’d be more tension over seeing whether a hitter would reach third to get the home run rather than watching a ball go into the stands (but I know most fans likely’d rather see that).

@wallylm, that is how we played in our yard! Unless you could hit the neighbors roof, it was just a long out and walk to go get the ball. We developed good batting strokes as a result too.
