    The government ships and personnel involved in the rescue would be paid and probably would be doing training exercises anyway. The cost of the rescue is mostly fictional since we would be paying for the men and equipment even if they were not doing the rescue. In fact, it was probably really good training.. Clearly the family was irresponsible, the proof is in the pudding, they got themselves is very serious trouble.

    Childless by choice is a selfish decision. If you don’t want to have children, you could help out society by raising orphans to be productive members of society. Why do some people think that accumulating stuff is the best choice for their life and their country?

    I agree with the guy in a recliner. I went to school to get a good job, paid for healthcare all along, and now we turn it over to the govt to make it “fair”?! Every little decision we all have to make has to be decided by govt? Foolishness.
