    I ate a steer named “Faraday” once. It was his own fault. He wouldn’t get on the truck.

    It occurs to me that I’ve never known anybody named “Tom” that I actually liked, so that would probably be okay too.

    @gir63 no, the joke is that they named the bird, which makes him feel more like a pet, and now they can’t eat him because they’d feel guilty.

    Of course, if you grow up in the country, animals you’ve named and animals you feel okay eating are not mutually exclusive :)
