Some things ARE best left to Professionals!
Never had a problem washing my cats when it was absolutely necessary. Most important: lock the bathroom!. But most times, cats are perfectly able to clean themselves.
I guess this is when those ancestral genes come to the fore.
NOW maybe they’ll close up that hole!
