Could you please clarify your position? Are you saying these things never happened? Or that they happened, but it was okay? Or that they happened and they should have been covered up?
The world is NOT “our oyster”, though radical conservatives do have the intellect of mollusks.
Every country is one we’re supposed to control according to the chickenhawks. Like Leonardo in “Titanic” their nationalist fervor shouts, “We’re the kings of the world!!”.
I don’t care for Putin, but how many in the Crimea speak English and watch Sponge Bob Square Pants, shop at WalMart, and consider Starbucks haute cuisine? In 1967, we influenced the Vietnamese voting process with military force, and assassination of candidates who opposed our choices. In Afghanistan and Iraq, we’ve brought real stability, right, so we need to determine Syria, Crimea, Ukraine, and every other countries futures to comply with OUR vision, for OUR needs???
Chickenhawks need to realize that the world is a big neighborhood indeed, but should also remember that the biggest actual coward in the neighborhood: is the bully.
Putin IS literally connected at the hip to the Crimea, and does have security interests there at Sevastopole with their Black Sea fleet. The elected head of the Ukraine was overthrown by anti-Russian forces, the Russian speaking folks in Crimea have a referendum that we don’t like, but gee we didn’t influence any elections in Afghanistan.
Wisdom and true power lie in the ability to confer, and resolve, without troops, force, or threats of war, or actual bombing as diplomacy. Yes, Obama can play chess, maybe not a master, but he’s doing better than cutting brush in Texas while our troops die in wars he started, to settle a personal score, like a cowardly bully.
My interpretation: ansonia says Kerry should be criticized for “excoriating” other veterans, as in the passage quoted here, which is probably from his testimony to Congress back in his anti Vietnam war days.+I would criticize Kerry for having turned into a shill for American neo-imperialism.
shrugged with “That’s merely an opinion. More people hate us under Obama than under Bush. I have posted sources before, as have others.”
I wasn’t in the office when the memo came out.Mind awfully re-providing those sources for my perusal? I’m curious to see who these folks are that hate you and your compatriots more since Bush.
Irish and Russian. Read something about that years ago: The Irish side believes in seeking good luck from the leprechauns, and the Russian side knows he’s never going to get it…
It isn’t any of our business if the Crimean people have made what is, in our opinion, a stupid choice. It is their choice to make. That’s how Democracy works. If it turns out to be a really bad choice, let them figure out what to do about it. They are not children, and America is not their parent.

Actually he’d probably say “Do I get per diem and combat pay for this?”

You really should show SOME shame about insulting veterans who served and were wounded in Viet Nam. You are not fit to criticize Kerry.
