It’s been said guns don’t kill people do. In this case there was no 1 pulling the trigger & now you have a tragic death. I don’t give a fig about the rights of gun owners when people are so damn irresponsible & lazy to not learn how to properly learn how to operate a firearm. Like driving a car we need people to be responsible & take gun safety lessons before ever touching a gun. These deaths can be avoided if people weren’t so damn stupid.

Obviously, if “guns don’t kill people, people do,” then they need to track down who donated the sock and convict them of killing someone. That’s the NRA way – you don’t get to control access to weapons going in, only after someone commits a crime with them.

in most states those under 18 are required to have passed a gun safety training class before they are allowed a hunting license. in some states this requirement also applies to those older than 18. unfortunately there is no class requirement for gang bangers.

This is not an isolated incident. More people are killed by gun accidents — by factors of ten — than are stopped by a “legitimate” use of a gun. Only idiots who can’t do math would own one, they overwhelmingly kill the gun owners and their families.

What’s IRONIC is that Chicago’s ultra-liberal Democrat leaders have enacted some the strictest gun laws in the nation, yet it’s the capital of gun violence.Rather than dealing with their real problems like corruption, poverty and gangs, they just blame guns.NOW do you get it, simpletons?

Who the heck donates a sock? I can see a pack of new socks, but a used one? WITH A GUN IN IT? .To me this looks like an illegal gun was dropped off in a sock at one of those mailbox looking donation centers for the Salvation Army.

I know I’m late to the party but that’s not a study; its some spin piece that two guys who never went or worked at Harvard wrote for Harvard (the study isn’t even peer reviewed). Second, there are errors all over that piece, such as how Luxemburg’s homicide rate was at 9.01 per 100K for a specific year. The real number is 0.62 per 100K. But since they can’t come up with facts they just simply distort the numbers and hope that other crack pots take their propaganda and slide it as truth. But then again one of its authors Gary Mauser happens to be the president of the Barnet Rifle Club and a master manipulator of statistics.

In laymen’s terms if a gun nut said it then its obviously true.
