While there is certainly truth in this, I don’t follow what that has to do with this particular cartoon. Prescott Bush is not mentioned, and the reference to President Obama by the elephant is much more reminiscent of the opinion about Neville Chamberlain at the time.
“(Except for the things that have made the rich RICHER, of course, that’s the result of “Fair and Balanced” Republicans!)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~It’s so nice to know you’re not alone.
“Buckin’ Fizarre!”~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Love that expression. I am going to incorporate it into my vocabulary henceforth!(I’m getting so many chuckles this morning.)
“….. Wilson was a democrat and got the U.S. into WWI. FDR another democrat when the US got involved in WWII. Truman a democrat when he got us involved in Korea. Johnson a democrat when we got involved in Viet Nam.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My memory doesn’t go back as far as the first world war, but I remember where I was sitting when the principal came on the sound system and announced the bombing of Pearl Harbor. How on this green earth can you blame FDR for that? (this is the biggest flaw in your version of history.)
As far as Korea and Viet Nam go, I disapproved of both those wars, but I hated the citizens of this country for not supported our soldiers..
and trying to mix apples and oranges is always a fruitless task (yeah, intended).
“Americans finally getting decent health insurance? OBAMA’S FAULT!”.Now THAT one is obviously untrue, unless by “decent health insurance” you mean “lost your health insurance”, because remember “if you like your health insurance, you can keep your health insurance…” NOT.
We had troops, called the Flying Tigers, in Indo-China before we entered WW II, quite a while before. Post WW II, it was actually Eisenhower who started stepping up our involvement in Viet Nam. But dates aside, the elephant doesn’t need them to blame Obama for Hitler’s rise, not Prescott Bush, or Henry Ford, his initial backers.
I think it’s because the GOP don’t see any problem with a govt invading a sovereign nation (looking for WMDs anyone) because that’s what WE, the USA, have done…Philippines, Hawaii, anyone?

The only Obama care story I’m pretty familiar with is the one about Cindy Vinson the ACA supporter who didn’t expect to be the one paying for the poor’s health insurance. Her direct quote: “Of course, I want people to have health care; I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.” Her policy went up $1800 per year..After I lost mine, I DID look into the exchange. My rates DID NOT go up much (I think about $10 a month) but my deductible went through the roof. My wife will lose her insurance, because of the ACA (fewer than 49 employees), where her employer; who was being a splendid guy by OFFERING insurance said his costs would increase too much..Obama is inept, and equipped with rubber stamping members of his own party. I voted for him the first time, the 2nd time I would have voted for shredded cabbage. With the country in a recession all he had to do was keep things running and let the economy swing back up; instead he rammed down the albatross known as the ACA down our collective throats, like the battered middle class needed this anvil of stupidity..The only thing this POTUS has been good at is making people more dependent on government largess. With things like the massive increase in people on public assistance, and those kiosk like the one near the WalMart close to where I work advertising for FREE CELL PHONES, no president has done a better job at taking from those who work and handing it to those who don’t.

irony, part 23: most of the pre-war republicans were isolationists, and opposed doing anything.

You’re right. I think it’s terrible that Wilson started WWI and that FDR started WWII. It was all their fault.
