I have said many times that this was designed to fail. It won’t be too long before our esteemed president announces that the all problems lie with the evil, greedy, uncaring insurance companies and only the government can be trusted to take over all medical care. Doctors will be government employees and hospitals will take direction from the government.
The government will set payment rates for all medically related “benefits.” Good luck everyone.
Sign-ups also mean “those who put their info in the website.” Not necessarily those who clicked buy or worse, paid. Hard to pay when the back-end is still missing that key element. But don’t worry about the poor insurance companies, it’s written into the law the tax payers will bail them out no matter the cause, albeit bad implementation, bad management or malfeasance.
I have alway thought that Obama has something to gain from all of this ACA mess. Like maybe a big fat kick back for his retirement. I think he is going to get tens of millions of not hundreds of million of dollars in kick back money from ACA after he leaves office.
It is not a success for those aged 60-65 who lose their coverage due to spousal drops, retirement or cancelled plans. I know. I am a victim. My cost for a private policy under CA Care has doubled since 2009. It is not affordable.
If you cannot trust a Nobel Laureate who is a chaired professor at one of America’s top universities…As I sit here in my vulpine retreat in a place far from liberal distractions, I can assure you that America’s top Universities will let almost any crackpot become a chaired Professor…. or at least a stool.
if the made the mistake of signing away their identities on healthcare.gov and are deemed eligible for medicaid, they are not allowed any other option but medicaid. No one is being forced to go on Medicaid, but people eligible for Medicaid can’t get a subsidy for private insurance. They could buy still buy insurance without the subsidy, but if they were Real American Patriots, they’d go uninsured, just like they always have.

I agree that there should be a recall — and then a single-payer system.
