Excuse me! It’s not a “moot” point. Did you ever get tied up to a fence and left to die in the middle of Wyoming for being gay? Did you ever go through school having to hide your sexuality while everyone else was dating for fear of being tied to a fence and left to die? Do heterosexual players constantly flaunt their families when they win a game while millions of young impressionable gay viewers are watching feeling alienated and unrepresented!! Again people!!!! Empathy! Kindness! Understanding! This is a big deal for gay people. So, either you’re too stupid to realize it, or you’re too cowardly to admit the reason it doesn’t matter to YOU is because you don’t like gay people. Either way, wake up! The whole ignore it and it will go away and it doesn’t matter line is just as insulting and hurtful as the explicit “I don’t like gay people”.

I agree. I remember one night in 1969 hearing some white people discussing civil rights in Little Rock. “I like colored people, I really do. And I think it’s a shame they’re having all these problems right now. And I think if we just shot a few more of their leaders the rest would settle down.” Silence is not a solution. Kudos to this brave young man and good luck in his career.

If that bar of soap – that the Gay Guy is holding in the shower – looks a little too phallic, YOU might be Gay.
