Yep, naming it Freedom Industries just makes it okay, doesn’t it, Koch brothers? And how does that make you feel about the EPA now, WV, NC?

Working for a local newspaper, I once interviewed two EPA reps after a meeting regarding possible toxic waste dumping in the area. They were really nice. But nervous…

I bet he has some bottles of “Lake Erie ’69” & “Love Canal ’78” put back in his home bar, too.

Christopher, you beat me by 6 minutes. If y’all don’t know about the Dan River coal ash pollution, STATE law allowed Duke Energy to avoid warning anyone about the leak. TEN days after the leak started, an official warning was issued, which is good since leaks are still going on.

The EPA regulations (like those of the FDA) can really only be followed by companies big enough to afford to. So one of the net effects is to force the little guys out that would not have much of an impact if they have a problem. Unlike the big guys who can decimate an area. Go figure.

Today’s Lio is an editorial cartoon, referring to an actual event.

Let’s all drink a toast to Death! Carpe diem!

Yeah, let’s just surrender and let them destroy what’s left of our environment. Greed is good! We’re doomed anyway.

Dave W…do you work at a job where you have weekends off? Thank a union. Do you work 40 hours and then have OT for hour 41 on? Thank a union. Do you get a lunch break? Thank a union. You’re obviously RW brainwashed teabagger to keep spewing those worn out uninformed talking points you hear from FAUX NOISE and Rush. The GOP is on it’s way out… too bad too because at one time it really was the Grand Old Party. Now, it full of stark raving mad lunatics whose only purpose is to make it a religious fascist party.

The EPA allows pesticide treated seed, the pesticide coming out in the pollen, that has been proven to kill pollinators. The EPA must be owned by the Koch Bros now, environmental protection proschmecson, who needs pollinators?

too bad that today’s great strip brought out the right wing loonies with their lunatic, ridiculous ideas. it’s ok, though because their absurdities provide great comic relief, instead of saying anything realistic about the situation in W.Va, the Koch Bros., or about the EPA

Thank you, Mark Tatulli. The owner of Freedom Industries is a convicted felon. Maybe if we barred felons from owning hazardous waste facilities, and rightly applied the hazardous label to things that are currently grandfathered as if they were not.

DAVE W: You are right on the money!! Too bad we’redoomed to the failure of yet another “socialist worker’s paradise.” When will they ever learn? It is sad to see Tatulli take a cheap shot at “freedom.”

Wow, Lio gets political. Good to know that Mark cares for more than just spiders, zombies and squids. I approve but hope he does not take it too far. I like my Lio light for the most part.

You can have a country exactly like that – all you have to do is move to Somalia.
