Brian… I laughed too…. I didn’t know we were having quite so much fun on Ballard St.

    Do we have an epidemic?

Actually I’ve seen it written that way elsewhere, too…

but it always makes me giggle.

    Ooh… there’s our Valentine’s Special for Friday night….

I’ve been wondering what it should be….

Mead! A bit sweet for everyday, but a lovely, quaint drink for special occasions…and we have at least two in stock at the Tiki.

Chaucer’s has the most beautiful label, and it’s delicious, almost a dessert…Boudica’s is a little dryer, with a bit of natural carbonation….

I recognize those trains! The size is one hint, but the real giveaway are the ties on the track — two close ties, then two spaced ties, then two close ones, etc. Those trains are S-gauge American Flyers!

(And I don’t celebrate St. Hallmark’s Day, thank you.)

As a model railroader, I must take exception to the way he has his power connected to the track. Really! All three wires connect to one rail? And why three wires when only two is needed? Sometimes I think I’ll never understand cartoonists . . .

“You can have a steam train….if you just lay down your tracks” I understand him.“Its not my job to run the train. The whistle I don’t blow. Its not my job to say how far the train suppose to go.I’m not allowed to pull the brakeOr even clang the bell. But let that damn thing leave the trackAND SEE WHO CATCHES HELL.”Anonymous My old Army motto in Alaska in Wheel Track Maintenance.Of course is he son of Gomez??

Great train wreck clip! I can see now why Curtis takes great care to re-enact that scene.Let’s just hope he doesn’t decide to re-enact the nuke scene in Broken Arrow…

Meanwhile, I hope that Curtis’ “Lone Ranger and Tonto” fared well…

When we celebrated the Danelaw Wedding feast (as a “non-SCA” event where more authenticity was required) one of the members made some mead for the whole party. We only served mild beverages at the event (so I hid a vial of gin in my purse) LOL!

I am now officially able to drink again as of today, and enjoying a small drink of gin in a lovely pale aqua martini glass. I HAVE added ice already, so I can continue to sip and enjoy. He sent me a lovely ecard and I will be with my lover tomorrow after his performance. It’s incredible how many interests we share (he has even faceted stones, as I have) but has done actual rock-hounding (which I’ve never done yet). We may camp at a March event (but he’d have to miss his church choir) so we’ll see.

Bev… that’s the Fireman’s friend from work, Chris…. He’s off on Fridays, so he just came in to help for the (hopefully) busy holiday.

He’s not really a bartender but he’s a good cook…so I thought we could find something for him to do….

Both the Fireman and Sid have to work tonight at their regular jobs….so I’m also bringing in 3 of the little monkeys to help (and… sigh… hinder ) Fenton.

Doesn’t look like it to me, Sarah. I think he likes screaming “The bridge is out! The bridge is out!” as the train rounds the bend.
