I’ve been reading comics for too long. The same gag was in “The Wizard of Id” many years ago, with cowardly Sir Rodney instead of a robot “yielding” to the sign.

Someone does not drive – a Yield sign is a triangle, not a diamond

I think he’s yielding to the mailbox. I recall him speaking to mailboxes in the past.

They had to take down the yield signs in our neighborhood and replace them with Stop signs..Evidently people thought Yield meant go like hell..
