The utility company where I worked for over 41 years had merged with another one right before I left. I could tell it was not going to be good. I was almost gone anyhow and then they offered that ‘package deal’ and my wife and I both left. (she had 40+ yrs). Everyone you talk to now that’s still working absolutely hates the company now. So we are doubly enjoying our retirement. We’ve been gone since 3/31/16 and got paid through November of this year to leave! I turned 62 in May and have started early SS too.
