If we’re going to live in a wacky caricature of the drugged world, could it please be the Freak Brothers instead of Cheech and Chong? I have my standards.
I’m sure there existed plenty of Temperance Union members who held the same opinion about Alcohol prohibition back in the 30’s.
Colorado is doing what this whole country should have done long ago – Restoring freedoms to adults.
I don’t want to use the stuff but I don’t feel threatened by the prospect of others being allowed to use it if they so choose.
The Anti-drug fascists really need to get over themselves and stop trying to impose their views and wants on others. I feel threatened by them because they aren’t afraid to spend Trillions of tax dollars to prosecute and incarcerate others who exercise what should be their freedom.
Dale I agree with your statement at the surface.Unjudicious use of any of our freedoms can lead to trouble:Association, Bearing arms, speaking our minds, etc. etc.
And though you didn’t say it I want to make sure that’s as far as we go. Warning people to use their freedoms wisely rather then imposing the rule of law on them because it makes our lives better or easier.
You can also find Mahatma Gandhi having some less than pleasant things to say about homosexuality. As a general ruleNever idolize the person, idolize the idea.
As a sub note. Having known some Hell’s Angels in the past. Cutting into one’s own supply was a sin above all others
“ypoons”: you ARE aware that you’re roughly 5-10 times as likely to face someone driving “impaired” by LEGAL drugs, such as OTC cough medicine, or prescription drugs like anti-depressants, pain meds, etc. as you are “illegal” drugs? Read the labels on those OTC meds, or the stickers on your prescription meds some time. Take a look as well at those geriatrics in line to pick up their medications, or if you really want “scary”, just think cell phones, even without texting.
Having been in law enforcement, and making traffic stops for a number of years, I’ll take my statistical odds on those smoking pot, and CAUSING accidents.

Using drugs responsibly just as using alcohol responsibly is the problem. People who want to warp reality are not on their best judgment.

Doesn’t affect me… isn’t legal here, and I’m a law abiding citizen.
