Pot was WAY easier to get than alcohol when I was in high school. No fake ID, just call “The Guy”.I doubt normal Americans will now all want to get high with their kids just because pots legal.
Many of the “stoners” and pot smokers I have known were well employed and diligent workers. They did not come to work hung over, but were alert and ready for another day. Then I have also known alcoholics how could sell ice to Eskimos as they wanted to get their quota and hit the bars.
That is until they develop a bi-polar disease (20% more likely with long term use) or cancer….My question is: Why are so many people trying to legalize marijuana when they are also trying to make tobacco illegal?.After all, both smoked are cancer causing, both have bad systemic effects on you with long term use, both create second hand smoke that is annoying…Three hundred years ago people thought tobacco was a medicinal product. I hope it doesn’t take 300 years this time to figure out marijuana isn’t a medicinal product and is just as bad or worse for you than smoking tobacco is.
Enoki obviously didn’t get michal wme’s joke. “Medical marijuana” does indeed have MANY positive applications, just like many herbals and naturopathic remedies do. You know, the ones “big pharma” has spent big bucks to synthesize and sell to you at hundreds, or thousands, of times the cost of the natural product.
I DO have reservations about sales for recreational use, but the amount of marijuana you’d have to smoke to equal the damage from tobacco smoking, would have you so stoned you couldn’t stand up. As to comparison to alcohol, I’ve never seen a “mean stoner” in a fight, but broke up lots of mean drunks in bars, and my dad was a mean drunk, who administered regular beatings, until the day he realized I’d grown taller than him.
Which, does point to the fact that with said “recreational use” regulations do need to be in force for those who “indulge to excess”, and then try to drive, etc..
But, “Reefer Madness” was the most ridiculous exaggeration I’ve ever watched, well, except for “Commando” with Schwarzenegger making folks think that heroes are all bulletproof and only “bad guys” can get hit by bullets.
“Refined sugar, processed foods, and sugar substitutes are far more problematic to American consumers than pot. Diabetes is soaring in America, just ask Tom Hanks.”
Bin-Go!!!
Researchers are now suggesting that the weed may support insulin function … I suppose anything’s possible, but since TPTB refuse to acknowledge the body of research, refuse to fund such research, we may never know.
And that seems to me not just ‘like stonewalling’, it seems to me like criminal stonewalling.
“Gen Y Millennials work? WORK?.Not likely. Let the “government” feed the kids.”-That isn’t my experience. Most of the Gen Y parents I know are hard working, attentive parents. Perhaps you should get to know more responsible people.

Reefer Madness had to be one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. It is a classic example of a stupid bureaucracy protecting its rice bowl.
