I wonder how many people will read this and wonder what a phone booth is??!!!
But shouldn’t that have been phono booth? I think this cartoon was edited by someone who didn’t know the context. It would blow the MP3 generation’s mind to know that record stores used to have booths so you could listen before you bought.
It may well be that the listening booths back then were referred to as “phone booths”. (“Back then.” Listen to me. I’m old.)
There’s plenty of room. Just don’t let Alvin and Dink know.
As I remember, they were called Listening Booths, but we “kids” just called them “Booths”, as in “Is this booth taken?”Been a while since I saw one…
