It was 0 degrees out here, and I saw a boy wearing shorts. I’m young too, but dang.

I’m from Montreal and I’ve been on vacation in southern Spain since January 1. Here it’s nice and warm, although my spanish friends think it’s cold….When they see me in shorts they can’t believe it!

my youngest grandson wears shorts all the time and it usually results in a HUGE fight when it is cold and mom insists that he wear jeans or long athletic pants. I like the cold but even I am not wearing shorts in January. (gonna be 73 here today)

; ) I’m just thankful he’s not wearing the waistband of those shorts a foot or so lower!

The shorts they wear, today, look more like man-capris…

That’s a different style background than Jan normally draws, isn’t it?

As my dad used to say when he’d see this sort of things, (including me when I was a teen): “no brains, no feelings.”

I have no problem wearing shorts in cold weather. I feel cold more in my upper body.

When I used to pick up my kids from high school, here in eastern WI, I used to see kids walking home on days with temps in the teens, not wearing their jackets. My kids would always be bundled up. Of course, they both like to knit, so they liked wearing the things they made.

The color in many of the comics seems to be different lately – kind of subdued or more pastel or yellowish or something. Wonder what’s up with that?

Yup. We went to the Statue of Liberty with some friends and their teen-aged daughter. Cold as a stepmother’s heart, and the girl had her fists in her pockets and her should hunched so far you couldn’t see her ears, but she refused to zip up her jacket. Not the done thing, apparently.

Ever wonder why kids, whose caregivers cannot afford to purchase jackets, gladly participate in a clothes drive (especially for coats and jackets) so that they will have something warm to wear. I’ll bet they wear their jackets/coats everyday in the cold weather… ;)

Even at my age, I can briefly run around in very little. It depends on the situation and what you are doing.

I shudder whenever I see someone walking around in shorts during the winter, and the winters can get pretty cold here in Utah.

I just had that happen on Friday afternoon when escorting the grandkids home from school. I have no idea who the kid in shorts was who ran his board around us, though.Brrr!
