Actually, he sits there not only to eat, but to guard the food and supplies, and to monitor suspicious activity.
Knowing his own tricks at a buffet, even in a friend’s home….the extra rolls in his pockets, the thin layer of mashed potatoes carefully concealing half of his vast serving of roast beef, gobbling an extra dozen olives and a large piece of salmon filet with his fingers while filling his plate….
He’s suspicious of all his friends.After all…. birds of a feather…..
I guess the “expensive” plates are the best of the worst?He probably uses 4 to hold up what he puts on his. I see they moved the clown again. Is it to intimidate the guests from lingering around the table? I am guessing it is a pot luck dinner I can’t see Joy in the kitchen that long or paying for good food like that.
Their paper plates are probably just a step up from those practically worthless ones that are used for BB gun targets and kindergarten arts and crafts.

From what we know of their eating habits, only desserts are in any danger of being unfairly served. I agree that they would not have cooked or purchased that spread, but Burl is always in charge ;-D
I tried a different version of my breakfast bars that I did not expect to like, but we both do like them. He made me a nice vegetarian dinner too (as there are no places near his house for that cuisine- I checked, the closest are almost to my house).
