For the record, if you want to talk about the historical St. Nicolas instead of the fictional Santa Claus, he came from Turkey and was probably pretty dark.

Fox News just has over 10 times as many viewers as MSN-BS.

I hate getting involved in this but I have to ask the question: Mythical as he is, he is a Northern European myth. Why are northern Europeans not allowed to have their own myths without being told they have to look like somebody from another part of the world? South American indigenous races have legendary figures. What would the howl be if Northern Europeans said they had to be transformed into blond-haired blue-eyed types ( and yes, I know not all N E fit that description; you know what I mean; NO S A indigenous types do!) I don’t mean to add fuel to the fire, but I hate bullies and this distinctly feels like PC bullying.

Nantucket, apparently Zwarte Piet is a side-kick of Sinterklaas, if you will; one of several persons who accompany him (why would the Dutch call him both Sinterklaas and the very different and distinct Zwarte Piet?). And dark-skinned Greek is not African. And the question stands: why can northern Europeans not have icons of their own who look like them?

I’m sorry. This creation is from Northern Europe, brought over to this country by peoples from Northern Europe. Just because you like something doesn’t mean you get to highjack it. Again the question: why can Northern Europeans not have their own legends and myths who are allowed to look like them?
