I never did this. My kids were expected to behave correctly no matter where we went. Sure, they got upset or had issues, but nothing that couldn’t be handled on my own.
That’s how “Good” friends become good friends. We Have a “Good” friend, who we were stationed with for 15 of the 23 years we were in the Navy together. The “Boys” were a week apart in age and the “Girls” were a year apart. It worked for both families. We are still very close (including the kids) today after forty plus years.
