English major though I am, I’m not particularly fond of grammar nazis, even when they are right and I know it. Like the crow here (“whom” is the preferred word. “Thee” is just old fashioned, though).
The rumpus between language purists and the rest of us is just part of linguistic reality. Language mutates (evolves?) ’cause the driver is common usage and purists are greatly outnumbered.
