@Bruce———Your quote from James and all other Bible quotes are not teaching secular governments to “equalize” citizen incomes!!-And the only Biblical theocracy was the original Jewish nation under the Laws of Moses given by God. Those laws had long-term “corrections” to help the poorer people. But it was not a Socialist or Marxist type of government that teaches the State is the Idol to worship. It was “theo”-cracy because God was the only entity to worship. All others were Idols and it was a Sin to be an Idolator.-Bible teaches Voluntary and Private charity for the poor. The “day of reaping what was sown” is the Final Judgment in Heaven.

The Jews were to leave the produce at the edge of their land so that the poor could pick it up. This is what helped Ruth survive till she remarried. It was not Marxist but did take care of the poor.

No, actually that does nothing; the profits remain in the hands of the rich. The real way is to greatly increase taxes on the rich and on corporations, and tariffs to punish those who unpatriotically move their profits overseas.

Bruce4671 GoComics PRO Member said, about 10 hours ago @disgustedtaxpayer OK and what then is your point?-my point is aimed at giving Bible facts to deter leaders like the Jesuit Pope using Marxism against capitalism to “justify”using the “State” (government) to forcefully “equalize incomes”, and US Prez Obama jumped immediately on the Pope’s bandwagon and many citizens of the Liberal persuasion with him, no doubt.-My point is that secular governments do not have God’s command to “redistribute wealth” using income inequality as the excuse. Jesus said we would always have the Poor with us in society…..under men’s rule. If every neighbor helped his neighborhood when needs arise, that would be obeying God’s Law to share with others what God has blessed you with. And as Rush pointed out on his radio program, Capitalism has raised more common folk out of poverty than any other type of government, while socialist governments merely equalize Misery and also Kill citizens….USSR, Red China, Cuba….wherever it is tried, it fails.

How hypocritical….The Catholic church sits upon and commands riches beyond the common man’s imagination.I’ll pay more attention to the Popes advice in this area when the Catholic church begins selling off its riches and giving the profits to the poor of the world.

There is enough charitable will to feed the masses, however, government has usurped the role of charitable organizations by robbing those who have a surplus – and would like to give – of their income and the means to give.
