Obama’s off on closing Gitmo again… You gotta keep up with things! The whole Afgan thing is so last week..Oh, as an aside, Bahrain arrested two ex-Gitmo “detainees” for terrorism a couple of days ago when they snuck into that country to do some fun stuff…

Oscar, they are Prisoners of War not criminals arrested for a violation of the law. As such they can be detained pretty much indefinitely.You might want to note that the US had PoW’s held in camps from WW 2 all the way to 1954 in the US itself.So, there is no reason the US has to “charge” them with any crime other than being an enemy combatant in a war zone..That being said, if we actually followed the Geneva Convention we should just have them shot for being “Spys and Saboteurs” in the archaic language of those conventions. Fighting US / Allied troops in a declared war zone and not being in a recognizable uniform is listed as a war crime punishable by death under the Geneva Convention not that a Progressive Leftist would understand that one has to follow legal conventions even if one is a “Freedom figher.”
