    Doesn’t matter how good a store’s cookies are, they’re still store-bought cookies and will never be as good as home made by mom/grandma.

    This Cranberry Bread is delicious….almost as good as Evies’ cookies , I bet. Love it. Added fresh Apples. Cinnamon, and Orange peel and juice. Oh, yeah. :)

    This used to happen to me EVERY Tday. “Look, I brought a pie from Marie Callenders”

    so my home made pumpkin pies aren’t good enough? Couldn’t think of something else to bring? are ya kidding me?

    I baked 2 recipes of very healthy hearty oatmeal cookies yesterday because I’ll be away from home tonight and going to a pot-luck breakfast Sunday ;-D

    I’m not sure that will work. You do know the Health Department allows “food factories” to have a certain number of rodent hairs and insect parts in their foods. Bake it at home – it’s safer.

    Wow good comment and strip today. I rather have warm let cool from the oven baked cookies. You all are making me hungry.Today is great baking day. In KS we are having mixed bag of weather. We have strong ice storm missed central ICT central east KS has strong ice weather. We will get icy rain then snow. That is why good day for baking.Monday I will start cooking chicken. Tuesday two chocolate pies.

    This kid at my school always brings homemade lunches. I look at my Hot Pocket or Pot Pie or whatever and at his homemade, one-of-a-kind sandwich or salad or whatever it is and sigh with longing.

    @bawanaYou may be ruling out more than you have to. You’ve likely had bad reactions from things made in fairly high-dander environments (e.g., a house with unneutered male cats, or any cats who walk around on the kitchen counters) and may be over-generalizing to anyone with any kind of pet anywhere. Cats really are the biggest problem because they are able climb up onto everything. Dogs that stay on the floor in other rooms, or a gerbil in a cage 5 rooms away, shouldn’t contaminate food made in the house any more than food made elsewhere. However, that does assume that the people keep a reasonably clean kitchen and WASH THEIR HANDS before food prep. That’s another highly likely problem source for you with home-made food: people who aren’t washing their hands before handling the food (at EVERY step, including boxing things up for gifts). People get lazy about that sort of thing at home, whereas we all see the “employees must wash hands” signs in commercial establishments.

    But if any animal anywhere in a building were enough to “contaminate” the food, I don’t see how you could eat anything at all. People carry dander with them, and there’s just about nowhere in the world totally free of any microscopic bits (good explanation here: http://www.asthmacenter.com/index.php/News/details/pet_allergy/ ) People who prepare food in restaurants and factories likely have some microscopic amount of dander in their hair, clothes, etc. The only way to avoid food made anywhere near a molecule of pet dander would be to eat only food prepared by robots in antiseptic clean-rooms with vacuum airlocks.
