Val: Holly, what are you doing?
Holly: Moving.
Holly: If I can't have my own room, I'm going to sleep on the landing.
Val: Seriously??
Holly: Can I put up some posters?
I have honestly no idea why Val is so against the idea of dividing that room. Surely everybody deserves some privacy and as long as Holly doesn’t forbid Alix to go to the door I don’t see any problem. They could even switch sides so Holly has the one farthest from the door.
Our oldest once decided she didn’t like her bed. We suggested she sleep in the corner. Wrapped her in blankets and leaned her against the wall. She was five at the time.
I thought the room dividing sheet was a good idea. A lot cheaper than trying to build something to separate the room in two. As for sleeping on the landing, she’s bluffing and you need to call her bluff. I doubt she’ll do that more than one night, after all, that’s letting Alix have the room to herself.
I have a friend who’s teen daughter decided to move into their RV. My friend told her if she did that she would have to keep the entire RV clean, and pay for her own expenses. The teen changed her mind fast enough.

Put everything back, Holly, or you’re grounded for a month.
