I suppose this is becoming trendy… borrowing and interacting with other comic strips. Pastis does this on a regular basis. That is between bad puns. Even Conley from Get Fuzzy and Cho from Liberty Meadows does some borrowing on occasions.
It would have been better if Clovis had picked up Charlie Brown. He never gets any respect anyway.
