When Reagan was governor of California, he closed the big mental hospitals and moved the mental patients to small, local institutions, so they could receive care close to home. Oh, BTW, he forgot to provide any funding for those local mental health centers. The homeless population skyrocketed about the same time. There couldn’t be any connection.
Now, with sociopaths running the Big corporations, and most of the US House too, and people going on killing sprees almost every month, THIS is NOT a good time to cut funding for mental health or close facilities., no matter if some of their hearts were in the right place. there was of course a BIG connection to closing institutions and homelessness.!
