Beet-hoven… the stage name he took later in life, when he started de-composing, and was reduced to playing the Borscht Belt.

    Bev… aww…. (blush) I hardly merit such purple prose….

I do make good soup…. but not with my precious late tomatoes, though…. I cherish every one.

Meanwhile …. a message from our friend Dry…. for those who have been asking or just wondering about all the “Free Dry!” posts and name changes:

"I responded to a very nasty and over-the-line comment with some mild, yet salty, words to which GoComics objected.

I have apologized on the telephone and by letter. In my defense, I honestly thought that their rules had relaxed, as evidenced by some comments that are much worse than mine.

This is my first “infraction” since becoming a member in 2008, and it would have been nice to get a warning first, but, unfortunately, that’s not how GoComics deals with these issues.

I’m hoping that I will be reinstated sometime soon.

Thank you all for the tremendous support that you’ve shown for me. I appreciate it more than you know."

A set of drums in a root cellar – that’s the best place to keep a beet.

the only reason Dan Dan the pun pun man put a beet on that piano seat is he couldn’t figure out a coherent way to draw a ‘bay’ on a piano seat so he could label the cartoon ‘Bay-toven’

For making a good soup, shouldn’t that be “the purée of heart”?
