wildcatherder: Are you sure? I thought only hyenas and wolverines actually ate the bones, although many species will break them to get the marrow and inadvertently swallow some fragments.
Our basset hound once did the same thing with an entire chicken. We never found any bones, either. We ended up ordering pizza that night. lol
