Is this sarcasm?I don’t think it was a congestion problem when only 6 people nationwide signed up on the Grand Opening Day.The problem isn’t too many people trying to sign up or the red herring known as the Tea Party. It’s a simple fact that people don’t want BarryCare!

The Tea Party is not the cause of the train wreck. The sticker shock is. Dems own this fiasco hook line and sinker!

Mr. Kallaugher stole Jon Stewart’s analogy. At the Rally for Sanity/Fear, Mr. Stewart became serious in the last fifteen minutes and said Americans are on a six lane highway that narrows to a single lane going through a tunnel. On the other side of that tunnel are the places Americans want to be to be happy and secure. But we are so caught up in our dislikes for the ‘other drivers’, their looks, their bumper stickers, the music we hear them playing… that we refuse to work together in order to keep the traffic moving. Instead of slowly moving toward similar goals, traffic is at a standstill.^The tunnel in the case of this cartoon is too narrow and poorly designed for traffic to flow easily even if the drivers were being cooperative, and sadly, the extremist amongst the Rs are providing additional distractions. But they are still safe in most places. With media support, gerrymandering and money from powerful groups, the Republicans are better able to choose their voters than their voters are able to choose moderate candidates.^The ACA will be straightened out, and hopefully, the parties will do the necessary adjustments on it to make it the product the nation needs for long term relief from increasing healthcare costs. But before that happens, the Dems will have to become good faith negotiators with Republicans who have set aside their own extremists in favor of advancing the nation and all of its peoples, even the poor ones.Respectfully,C.

No, but the rwnj want to put anyone in jail that has sex beyond the missionary position, are not married, and only a man and a woman can be married, and other none-of-their-business-personal-done-in-private-not-gonna-hurt-anyone acts.

Are you REALLY that blind?? There are multiple articles where any Navigators are able to sign ANYone up for Obamacare because once people see the high premiums and deductibles they walk away. Look it up. Open your eyes. Spit out the Kool-Aid!

Just got my 2014 Group Plan brochure yesterday. There are a number of changes from previous years (been with the plan for over 20 years). It appears a number of those changes will 1. LOWER premium increases compared to previous years. 2. Make the company responsible for more, with changes in copays. 3. For the first time, make “non-formulary” drugs available at a discount from what I currently pay.

These changes do reflect actions from the ACA, for people who DO already have insurance. It appears those private policies “canceling” folks, are doing it because they don’t comply with the new requirements. Most, but admittedly, not all, changes seem to be improvements.

Yes, not having the web site properly prepared was a screwup, and Sebelius, and Obama have said so, but the “conservative” side never listens, like when “W” apologized for lying about WMDs and Saddam playing a part in 9/11. Oh, wait a minute, nobody in the “W” administration ever apologized for any of THEIR screwups that killed hundreds of thousands of people, and cost multiple trillions of dollars!

Once again for your short memory. If there’s going to be an apology for WMD’s, then the Democrats that were all gung-ho for invading Saddam needs to apologize as well. ,http://www.davidstuff.com/political/wmdquotes.htm.However, no GOP or Tea Party need apologize for ACA because we didn’t put ONE vote towards it. YOU Dems own it 100%. It’s YOUR fiasco to apologize for!

I think you and your source are overstating things, Mr. Churchill. Mr. Obama’s daughters will grow up in this nation and the consequences of the actions described would have our nation bearing little resemblance to what it is now.I also fear the tone you set. You fail to recognize the many liberals, Democrats, and independents who are patriots, and have shed blood on foreign soil on behalf of our nation and freedoms. In addition, your words could be taken as a call to arms, to rally people to use violence in order to change direction instead of the ballot box.I have frequently defended conservatives from those who have used similar words, though not with the emphasis you use in this specific post. Most Americans, liberal and conservative alike, are moderates. It is the extremists on the fringes who are burning the carpet on which we centrist would stand in peace and bipartisanship.Fiery rhetoric can do much damage, the pen is mightier than the sword, please do not pigeonhole all of us who are not conservatives as the enemy. We are your neighbors.Respectfully,C.

That single-payer system is just a horror. Canadians hate it:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_care_in_Canada

Canadians strongly support the health system’s public rather than for-profit private basis, and a 2009 poll by Nanos Research found 86.2% of Canadians surveyed supported or strongly supported “public solutions to make our public health care stronger.”910 A Strategic Counsel survey found 91% of Canadians prefer their healthcare system instead of a U.S. style system.1112 Plus 70% of Canadians rated their system as working either “well” or “very well”.13A 2009 Harris/Decima poll found 82% of Canadians preferred their healthcare system to the one in the United States, more than ten times as many as the 8% stating a preference for a US-style health care system for Canada14 while a Strategic Counsel survey in 2008 found 91% of Canadians preferring their healthcare system to that of the U.S.1112A 2003 Gallup poll found 25% of Americans are either “very” or “somewhat” satisfied with “the availability of affordable healthcare in the nation”, versus 50% of those in the UK and 57% of Canadians. Those “very dissatisfied” made up 44% of Americans, 25% of respondents of Britons, and 17% of Canadians. Regarding quality, 48% of Americans, 52% of Canadians, and 42% of Britons say they are satisfied.13

2012 saw a record year for number of doctors with 75,142. The gross average salary was $328,000

This is the section that concerned me, Mr. Churchill…^Message to the GOP: This isn’t a game. This isn’t tiddly-winks. This is a serious, purposeful attempt to highjack America and destroy capitalism. This isn’t a trainwreck. It’s purposeful suicide. It’s not failing, it’s working exactly according to plan. Obama knows what he’s doing. Stop apologizing and start fighting. John Boehner: you said this isn’t a DAMN Game…..how right you were. You just didn’t know it.

Oh and one more thing…*Conservatives aren’t “terrorists.” We are patriots and saviors*. We represent the Constitution and the Founding Fathers. We are the heroes and good guys. Unless you get all this through your thick skulls, America is lost…forever.^As far as the rest of your presentation goes, that which your author writes are fascinating in that it is the similar nightmare on the opposite side of the coin. Where you suggest the middle class and upper class are being robbed to create a democrat voting class of entitled poor, I suggest the poor and middle class are being turned into indentured servants by an equally entitled and enriched upper class loyal to Republicans. You state the ACA was created to deliberately weaken our nation financially. I would counter that the exponentially increasing costs of healthcare and the effects of poor preventative care on our youth and middle aged adults is creating a populace that is physically unfit. 50% of Americans are overweight and diabetes in children is rising, as are other chronic illnesses. Education through schools AND preventative health care is necessary to stem this tide of national self inflicted harm.Your author does not state WHY Mr. Obama would want to do what is stated. What kind of “utopia” does he think the President is visualizing? Money is how we trade for services and compensate for products created. When the plague strikes, or the terrorists shut down the power grid, the cities become traps. If truck drivers become afraid to drive products to stores, the food chain to cities and towns ends. If the farmers are killed defending their animals and crops from roaming people scavengers looking for something to eat, then those who know how to create food are gone. If fresh water isn’t being pumped, and sewage isn’t being processed, disease will create people who will raid hospitals and medical offices, not to help people, but to have something with which to barter for food and fresh water. Then there’s the zombie apocalypse society… the people so hungry and mad with illness and thirst… people so angry at the gov’t and world that ‘betrayed them", they just eat whoever or whatever can’t defend themselves. The movies, tv shows, and vid games are showing it to be an option. That’s the true nightmare. What good will money do when our military is having to fight in our cities to defend what resources are left? How many of our military will defend the politicians and the wealthy when so many soldiers come from poor rural areas where jobs left to go to other countries, or from cities where their families are suffering and at risk? Without civil discourse, and bipartisan action, our nation is indeed at risk. But not from a President whose term is over in three years. The threat to our nation is greed, lust for power, and worse of all… a disconnect from our fellow Americans. WW2, Korea, and Vietnam created a pool where people from all walks of life fought side by side and learned to appreciate their neighbors. Now we are gating ourselves off from each other and letting politicians and media talking heads divide and weaken our nation so they can increase their profits and market shares you seem to want to protect. Their business. But as Marley said to Scrooge, “People should have been my business.”When it goes to hell in a handbasket, money doesn’t exist… People do. Respectfully,C.

I see where we disagree, Mr. Churchill.I see the pie, i.e. money, as a finite quantity to which each person is entitled a REAL opportunity to have access. Like the dessert table at the church potluck, there’s only so much to go around. You consider the pie to be infinite, loaves and fishes to those who… that’s where you lose me… nations are already feuding over fishing rights, water rights, and walnut and almond growers are seeing their trucks hijacked for the cargo within. You don’t want the fish and loaves to be distributed as it was by Jesus and his apostles, you want it to be earned if I understand you correctly. But how can it be earned if most of the ‘fishing boats" have been sent to people who will fish cheaper overseas. If the pies are made overseas and shipped back to the United States?I truly do believe in Compassionate Conservatism and in programs that make people earn the tools that help them leave a life of welfare entitlements. What annoys me are the entitlements given to companies that ship jobs overseas, or whose profits are so great they don’t need subsidies, or who are so profitable they pay their executives 8 digit salaries AND bonuses. I also dislike hypertrading where it pertains to currency values. Making 100,000 pennies per minute based on the value of the dollar vs. yuan vs euro produces nothing and employes no one who can grow anything or build anything. Yet the people doing so are becoming richer than Midas.Liberal extremism is as dangerous to our nation as is conservative extremism. When I think of Progressives, I think of Teddy Roosevelt. We need progressive thinking with conservative guidelines. Therein lies moderation. The tide must rise all boats equally without drowning those who are chained to the sea floor.Respectfully,C.

By the way, Mr. Churchill, a friend of mine had Mr. Obama’s mentor as a teacher when he was at the same university and distrusts the president as much as you. He, like you and I, look forward to the next election in 2016. But like me, he is hoping our choices are NOT Ted Cruz OR Hillary Clinton.I want to start a draft Colin Powell movement.Respectfully,C.

Robert Welch, and Fred Koch (yes, THAT Koch family) founded the John Birch Society, radical nut cases, and today we see the Koch Brothers sponsoring the TEA party: gee, see any link to conservative extremism???

Root just espouses the same radical right nuttiness. There IS a difference between REAL Republicans, and yes REAL Democrats, and the radial fringes of both parties.

The real issue today is the McCarthyism, of the 1950’s is even more widely distributed and accepted today, especially as regards President Obama, through the “internet” and other much more aggressive, and widely distributed sources than the McCarthy folks had access to.

That jam up at the tunnel is the frustrating inability to get facts into the minds of conservatives on the extreme right. Yes, there are some radical liberals as well, but despite all the Alinsky claims, Obama is NOT one of them!

“Debt Free”, note: I said “Lower premium INCREASES”, they’ve been running 13% a year, this year only 3% increase in premium. And yes, it does appear that with that smaller increase in premiums this year, there WILL be some better benefits!! It may also be to my benefit to go for the “lower option” plan, and cut those premiums in roughly half, with little impact on the coverage we most often use and need, as I now have some other source “filler” available.

Which speaking of “complexity” of health care, my plan brochure this year is 104 pages long, and it WILL be important to study more carefully before deciding. For folks signing up for “Obamacare”, many, if not most of whom, have NEVER had health insurance before, I’m sure it’s a LOT more complicated to figure out what to do.
