I just checked it out – It is a hand signal for training dogs. She is signaling him to “Leave it” – to not react to something that might get his attention.

She’s making an “L” for loser, which he can’t see because he’s sleeping with an eye shade.

Gee, I wouldn’t mind explaining this cartoon if only it the meaning was more obvious to me. I don’t think anyone needs to be berated for asking, especially since there seems to be no consensus as to what this one is about.

I see her hand mimicking a gun – how’s that for an interpretation?

“Must everyone take the time to explain the situation and meaning of these comic strips to you…”

Well, it may help the cartoonist understand when people don’t get the joke.

I presumed he left of the caption myself.

Only losers make the loser sign with the wrong hand. <—There’s your gag.

If she was expecting . . . anything, it is not clear that she gave any real encouragement.

I don’t think animals belong on the bed (especially not for any other than sleeping) and if she has nothing over shoulders why 2 covers on the bed. Those ARE for sleeping. And he must prefer dimmer lights. Looks like they are not suited for each other.

That’s the problem with expectations: They’re never voiced. Don’t expect your partner — of either gender — to be a mind reader.

I like Bliss, but these comments are funnier than the cartoon!
