This is a Steve Benson cartoon that is seemingly critical of a GOP position? And yes, almost all pf the current pols show that the main brunt of the American public’s anger is going to land on the Republicans in Congress, and the tea party types in particular. However, that will probably miss fire as the tea party types all come from very ultra conservative areas anyway. And so the only ones in Congress in any danger are the more moderate Republicans. And perhaps, that is the tragedy (yes, you heard this relatively moderate liberal, I would consider an almost totally one party rule in the US to be a tragedy also) that Benson is referring to!!

I don’t want to see the government shutdown. It puts people out of work and stops various services. Supposedly its more expensive than running the government too.

However, maybe it needs to happen. Maybe, just maybe, it will wake up some of the people in the House to start doing their jobs.

Sadly it probably won’t work. The leadership in the House is so weak that can’t seem to do much of anything but useless votes on defunding the Afordable Care Act and childish games of brinkmanship

You know the Left has lost the argument when all they have to offer in rebuttal are ad hominen attacks like this one.

Just an observation on “liberal” media, and selling the MIC to America. If CNN, which is always attacked as liberal, and MSNBC which I will admit DOES have a more liberal slant, carry nearly continuous ads by Lockheed-Martin, Northrop Grumann, and Boeing, touting their weapons systems they want the Pentagon to keep getting funding from Congress to buy, even when the Pentagon DOES NOT NEED OR WANT some of those systems? Hmm, like maybe getting pressure on those Congresspersons from constituents, “liberal” constituents, to keep funding up?

The “zero” in the ‘toon IS the “flight system” the MIC is selling, and it ain’t just the GOP on board!

Unfortunately for you lichtentunes, Obama is a mediocre intellect. He is clever like a criminal but he is anything but smart. He has done nothing in his whole lifetime that indicates intellectual substance. He was a mediocre lecturer at the U of C where his classes got panned as worthless by students and his lack of participation in the academic culture got derision from fellow academics. He failed as a lawyer. He failed as a community orgainzer. He never published anything of significance as President of the Harvard Law Review. His autobiographical books are so-so in quality and there is at least reasonable suspicion that they were ghost written.

His “My way or the highway” attitude towards political opponets has resulted in a failed foreign policy and nothing getting accomplished at home after losing complete control of Congress.HIs own executive actions border on or are illegal in many cases and have only added to his problems in getting things accomplished. For example, his waiver for “Dreamers” likely ended any chance of action on immigration from Congress where Republicans and even some Democrats now fear that whatever they pass will be ignored by Obama if it is convienent for him to do so..Obama is a moron.

No, as a matter of fact, liberal tantrums have never involved damaging the entire country on purpose. Republicans need the debt ceiling lifted as much as Democrats do. They just know that since Democrats are responsible adults, they’ll object when the house is set on fire while Republicans hate America anyway, so no loss.

He didn’t pass ACA; Reid and Pelosi did. And as Pelosi admitted, and Obama is finding out, they had no idea what was in the bill or how terrible it actually is.Obama started with a substancial advantage. He could count on the Black vote. In both elections he garnered 98% of the Black vote largely on the basis of racism and bigotry. That gave him the edge he needed both times to get elected.I can’t speak to why the US Black population is so overwhelmingly bigotted and racist but it is apparent they are or the vote would not have been so lopsided.

I think President Obama was referring to the raising of the debt limit, and not the shutdown of the federal government. I also believe that most Americans not only realize that, but agree with the president. Especially as the last time this happened the credit rating of the US was downgraded, and if it happens this time the cost to both the government and the taxpayer is going to just get greater and greater!!

Your commentary is absurd. Both Presidential candidates for the two major parties in the last two elections were male. This is a naturalistic logical fallacy. That is you argue that because 100% of the candidates were male and 100% of the vote was male therefore the voters must be misgynological. But, 100% of the candidates were not Black. Only one was and twice he recieved 98% of the Black vote. If Blacks were not racist or bigotted to vote for a Black candidate then their proportion of votes would more closely resemble the rest (roughly 77%) of the electorate. But, their vote doesn’t. It therefore follows that their voting was in part motivated by racsim and bigotry.

“Suicide? Dem Libs did that when they passed ObamaCare.”.You really think that? If so, then you underestimate the ability of the left to lie to their mindless masses. You underestimate the media’s ability to spin whatever catastrophe Obamacare generates to shift the blame elsewhere. You overestimate the Kool Aid drinkers ability to think independently and not parrot what they are told. As long as there is reality TV, the likes of Moly Cyrus and NBC getting away with editing audio to sensationalize a story, the “Dem Libs” will triumph.
