I like the joke but there is one flaw: Miss Double-Wide may apply to 99% of the female population of SC but the 1% able to enter beauty contests must be atypically thin.
Miss SC introduced herself as hailing from the state in which 20% of residents live in mobile homes. Most here in SC found it embarrassing ( though it was an attempt at self-deprecating humor .) Originally intended for SC newspapers only, but after a youtube video of it went national I thought it would be understood. Based on these comments, I guess not.
Junk Science from years ago: It was postulated that, because freeway traffic drives at such high speeds,the swirl of wind from that traffic would spawn tornadoes. Someone finally pointed out that most tornadoes travel west-to-east, but traffic also goes north-to-south, and vice versa, that the theory needed to be rethought!
