I saw some video of the people dying and it was very upsetting. Then I watched the John Kerry speech and he was very compelling.
Right afterwards was a general who said emotions are not a good reason to go to war. That we should Never get involved in a civil war. Also the fear of other possible things down the road is not a good reason.
The country is so divided now that No Matter What president Obama does, he will be reviled by all of the GOP and Quite a few democrats.
There have been many times over the years that I think being president is the hHardest job in the world. In all these long years I’ve never seen politics get this hateful and nasty.
I don’t think we should go have another war, but what do I know?
Grenada, Iran/Contra, Panama, dead Marines in Beirut, Afghanistan, Iraq since 1991 (our ACTUAL “longest war”), but Republicans have never wanted to interfere in foreign countries? Right.
BW: when Jimmie Carter was down “negotiating” in Haiti with the generals, he looked at his watch, told them the bombers would be there in an hour, so he had to leave, did they want to change their minds? They DID! That is how some forms of “diplomacy” can work, without actually going to war.
