Ben Franklin thought the wild turkey should be the symbol, and today, we have a bunch of domesticated ones running the House of Representatives, and too many in the Senate as well. NOTE: the WILD turkey is an intelligent, actual flying bird, that has little to do with the domestic version, just like today’s political leaders, on both sides, have little to do with leadership, and are instead lined up at the grain bucket held by lobbyists.
