    @simpsonfan2@Nabuquduriuzhur…

    Thank you for letting us know that you know nothing about art.Hitler wasn’t an artist. He was a kind of picture-postcard-painter.Art is not just art. There are several different specializations in painting alone. You can’t compare Gerhard Richter with Pablo Picasso or Wassily Kandinsky with Roy Lichtenstein or Andy Warhol with Paul Klee as you can’t compare Frank Cho with Brooke McEldowney in the field of comics.Stay with the comics. You’ll understand most of them even when you don’t understand all the other directions of painting or the other arts.

    Sure you can compare artists. Just like I can compare apples and oranges. Both grow in orchards however one can be red, green or yellow in color while the other is orange. This comparison doesn’t mean I don’t understand or appreciate citrus.

    I know nothing about the Serra “artwork” in St. Louis and what had happened to it. And I think I don’t have to, I am not a critic or any kind of art-person. And honestly: I don’t care about rusting metal sheets.

    @ All

    I wonder why you all have a problem with art or the question: what is art. Nowadays it is so easy to get information, just look it up at wikipedia. Another good source – to my opinion – is the preface of Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray”. The last sentence is the most important I think.When you have leveled with me, we can continue the discussion.
