I don’t see what the big deal is. America went bonkers for North West-Kardashian-Jenner-whatever, too. At least the Royals have the excuse of being a holdover from when Royalty had some sort of meaning. The United States makes celebrities out of people who have never done anything of any value.
I’m also sick of continuous news coverage of single-person stories, going straight from the Zimmerman trial to the royal baby. I’d like to hear more news about what’s going on in the world.
Lately, I’ve become more acquainted with the National Geographic channel.
Thank you, glad to be able to have a comment that was relatively non political in nature for a pleasant change. And for your grand kids, might I suggest obtaining on dvd some of the classical “Looney Tunes” cartoons. They are not only appropriate, they are also hilarious for adults as well!!
They are also full animation. I especially liked anything done by Chuck Jones, who never did anything in animation that was not full animation. Not only is much of the animation put out today inappropriate for children, it is also horribly animated and generally very cheaply made! Amazon has some truly excellent works by Jones, where he produced some of the excellent stories from “The Jungle Books” by Rudyard Kipling. The are not only beautifully animated, they are uplifting for children. Heck, the music in “The White Seal” is from the Sixth Symphony of Beethoven!
Too bad Prince Harry got bumped to fourth place, thus not having a chance at the royal throne; and him being the spitting image of Dianna’s riding instructor, the handsome but roguish red haired Major James Hewitt. Would have been an interesting turn in the Royal bloodlines. But probably not the first turn.
uk pm wants to spend millions on blocking internet porn. his “porn advisor’s” website got hacked. she blames the blogger who reported the hack, and is threatening to sue the blogger for libel. filters are on by default. if one wants to opt out, then the name goes into a national database for sex offenders. the filters are crap. topless passes the filters, but breast cancer doesn’t pass the filters. 50 shades of gray passes, but everybody poops fails. michaelangelo’s david fails the filter. proxy servers, or going through a redirect site passes the filters.

We have our President and politicians creating all non-issues to distract us from the real ones, and the UK has their royal family to distract them.

I’m sure if the Royals popped out a new heir every 9 months, the papparazi would soon get bored and look for new targets.

Supply & demand. We don’t demand better, we get what they find sells. Kill your tv, it is making people self-centered and greedy.
