OK, I’ve not been here long, but Rory thinks they’re playing Crazy 8s? In my young married life, when the wives of my Xs friends tried to play cards, they could not even manage Crazy 8s or Old Maid (children’s games) much less play Poker or 21. They could not even remember the sequence of 10,J, Q, K and A! ;-D
